Kuzguncuk'ta – Documentary Series

“In Kuzguncuk” is a three-episode documentary series created by Samet Bayraktar. The project focuses on design studios located in Kuzguncuk, one of Istanbul’s most historic and culturally diverse neighborhoods. Each episode features a different designer and craft, exploring the unique connection between creativity and the physical environment. The main aim of the series is to highlight how a designer’s surroundings and the social fabric of a neighborhood can influence the creative process. Kuzguncuk’s preserved cultural richness, strong sense of community, and inspiring atmosphere are all reflected in the visual and narrative language of the project. Throughout the series, viewers are invited not only into the creative workflows of the featured designers but also into how design integrates with everyday life and is shaped by its local context. The project offers an inspiring and insightful experience for both design professionals and those interested in art, culture, and urban identity.
